Join Hawaii On The Move host, Ramsay Wharton, as she takes a tour of Whalers Village Museum and gets a history lesson about the old whaling village of Lahaina, Maui.
Located on the world famous Kaanapali Beach in the Whalers Village Fine Shops & Restaurants, Whalers Village Museum is one of the finest whaling museums in the Pacific, featuring special exhibits and one of the largest collections of scrimshaw, the seafarer’s lonesome art, drawings carved on whale teeth in the world. The museum illustrates the heyday of whaling in Lahaina (1825-1860), and holds Hawaii’s largest collection of harpoons, tools, sea chests, sailor journals, and ship logs.
