Each Spring, at Whaler’s Village along the beautiful coast of Kaanapali, Maui they celebrate the world-famous Maui Kula Onion during the Annual Maui Onion Festival. Saturday, May 3, 2014 will be the 25th Annual Maui Onion Festival. Thousands will attend the fun filled event that showcases and promotes the cultivation of this unique sweet onion grown in the Kula region. The daylong festivities include plenty of beer-battered Maui Onion rings, a raw Maui Kula Onion eating competition, local celebrity Chef cooking demonstrations and tastings followed by a Maui Onion cooking competition, a large selection of Made-in-Hawaii and Maui grown products, and of course, plenty of live entertainment and world class shopping! And the night before the event, dine during an exclusive Maui Onion Beer Pairing Dinner. Host Ramsay Wharton shows us around the event that she helps co-Emcee . She’ll be there this year so stop by and say “Aloha”!
